They offer weary Mums and Dads a break with the Hamilton Island Clownfish Club. They match age with activity so the ‘under-five’s’ get things like painting, face painting, water play, blocks, puzzles, drawing, art and craft, indoor and outdoor playtime, storytelling and puppets.  The ‘over fives’ are more into snorkelling, swimming, beach activities, slime and goop, perhaps a visit to Koala Gallery, fishing, cooking, craft and games more suitable to their age.

For kids who aren't kids (13 - 17 year olds) Hamilton Island has plenty to keep them busy with pool and beach games, teens BBQ's and sports competitions. They will intuitively know to give their parents a break by taking the afternoon off to spend some time with people their own age. For kids aged 6 weeks - 4 years Hamilton has qualified group leaders available for child minding at an additional fee.

Hamilton Island has more than 40 activities to entertain the entire family separately or together. With go-karts, mini-golf, Koala Gallery, watersports and tours, the famous Wire Flyer and much more, a family holiday won’t not be long enough to fit it all in!

TOP 10 FAMILY ACTIVITIES ON HAMILTON ISLAND

There is so much to do on Hamilton Island that you will have to draw up a “Family Agenda” for your holiday so everyone gets to do their favourite activities before it’s time to leave. The ‘Top 10’ family activities on Hamilton Island include:

• Visiting the Koala Gallery Wildlife Experience for Breakfast with the Koalas, crocodile feeds and viewing of Australiana animals and reptiles.
• Getting your snorkel, goggles and flippers and doing the Snorkel Adventure at Catseye Beach.
• Hiring a golf buggy for an hour, ½ a day or all day and exploring the Island.
• Go-kart racing, mini-golf, hiring a dinghy, flying high on Wire Flyer or zipping across the Whitsundays’ waters on the new Jetryder, an adrenalin-pumping boat ride complete with spins, turns, twists and fishtails.
• Visiting Reefworld on the Great Barrier Reef. The day trip includes snorkelling, a magnificent buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea. Underwater viewing chambers and a semi-submersible boat allow non-swimmers to still see the brilliance of the reef and its aquatic inhabitants. Aviation tours are an optional extra.
• Spending a day on Whitehaven Beach playing beach cricket, volleyball or lazing in the water and on the pure white silica sands.
• Checking the kids into the Clownfish Club for a session of great activities with people their own age. Children can choose from such activities as chocolate making, screen-printing, fishing or snorkelling while you take a few hours’ rest and relaxation or get a massage.
