*KIDS CLUB*- Set on Aroa Beach, one of Rarotonga's most beautiful white sand beaches on the shores of Aroa Lagoon (the Lagoon of Love), The Rarotongan is located on the island's sunshine Southwest coast where guests can enjoy all-day sun, stunning sunsets, all-tide safe swimming and excellent off-beach snorkelling in the traditional marine sanctuary directly in front of the resort.
Expansively laid out amidst six acres of hibiscus, banana and coconut palms, none of the Resort's buildings are higher than two storeys, and most of The Rarotongan's 156 rooms & suites are set on absolute beachfront. As part of The Rarotongan's continuing upgrade it features a new, boldly colourful Pacific aesthetic combined with the charm of Polynesian-style architecture. The Rarotongan is close to all island adventures and attractions and is just over 10 minutes drive from the International Airport and downtown Avarua. The Moko's Kids Club really is outstanding and well-thought out. Rainy days can happen and the indoor area is spacious with heaps to do there's a trampoline, swings, large screen TV, videos, Playstation, computer games, a sandpit, cubby house and heaps of games, toys, puzzles, books and craft. Outdoors activities may include coconut climbing and husking demonstration, craft including kite making, crab hunting, sand castle competitions and fish feeding. You can also borrow games and toys to take back to your room to occupy the little ones outside Club hours. Moko's is open from 9:00am to 12 noon, 2:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm (closed Sundays). There's a Cook Islands nature and culture discovery program, a freshwater pool, poolside cafe/bar (with kids 'Gone Troppo!' menu), an ice cream parlour. The club is free for guests (and includes a complimentary snack and drink at each session) and for kids under 3 years old babysitting can be arranged (or parents can take the toddlers along and use the facilities). BABYSITTING: Day and evening babysitting service is also available at an approx cost of $NZ15 per hour, maximum of 2 children per babysitter. Please allow 24 hours' notice. Large kids can have fun in the games room with TV/video, air hockey, table soccer, darts, table tennis and pool table. And what is there on offer for the grown ups? Snorkelling, fish feeding, scuba diving (excellent Dive Centre for experienced and novice divers), beach volleyball, nature walks, cooking and dancing lessons or a pampering session in SpaPolynesia. ROOMS FACILITIES All rooms come equipped with individual remote-controlled air-conditioning, a private verandah with outdoor furniture, filtered and UV purified water on tap, King beds in all rooms, fan & insect screen, bath / shower, hairdryer, IDD phone with voicemail, automatic wake-up call services and dataport for e-mail & internet access for those with their own laptop. Stocked mini-bar & fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, daily housemaid service, room service. Microwaves are also available for the convenience of families (hire costs NZ$10 per day).
