Castaway Island *KIDS CLUB* - Castaway Island is one of Fiji's most popular island resorts.  Castaway has families returning year after year to experience the magic that is "Castaway". The island's 174 acres are covered with lush tropical vegetation, surrounded by white sand beaches and encircled by vibrant coral reefs. Castaway Island welcomes kids and adults alike and offers a range of activities, dining and entertainment.

Castaways spacious yet secluded bures and creative island cuisine along with the warmth and genuine hospitality of the Castaway family of staff combine to provide a unique holiday experience.  Castaway is the heart and soul of the Fiji Islands. 

This is one of the best kids clubs on offer in Fiji.  The Fijians' love of children is legendary and you can be assured your children will be well cared for by the Castaway family. They provide a complimentary service for all children 3 years of age and over daily with a separate, supervised children's dinner hour from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

The kids enjoy a mixture of games and experience a definite Fiji flavour.  Games are subject to the enthusiasm of the kids and may include sandcastle building, three legged races, tug-o-war, a four-brick race, cat & rat game, tunnel race, sing-a-longs, learn Fijian dancing and Fijian fashion show, coral collecting, fish feeding and a night nature walk.

Castaway offers sixty six spacious, traditionally thatched Fijian style bures (bungalows) with a choice of beach front, ocean view or island location. All bures feature one king size bed and most include two additional single beds in their configuration, with those bures comfortably sleeping up to four persons.

In the interests of maintaining the quality of the Castaway Island experience, our policy is set to limit a maximum of four persons per bure (or up to ten persons in our one family beach bure).

Each traditionally thatched bure features a high vaulted "tapa" lined ceiling with overhead fans. In most bures, sleeping and living quarters are separate with the emphasis being on privacy and comfort. All bures feature quality island style furnishings, fabrics and linen. Additionally a refrigerator together with tea and coffee making facilities are provided.

All bures have a large ensuite bathroom including separate shower, toilet and vanity area complete with hairdryer and toiletries with a Fijian flair.

"Castaway", or by its traditional Fijian name "Qalito", is a small reef-ringed island in the Mamanuca Group just 30 km or 20 miles due west of Nadi International Airport. Getting to Castaway is easy by boat, seaplane or helicopter.

BABYSITTING
For more personalized requirements than the Kids Club provides, a babysitting service is available by contacting reception. babysitters are in high demand and to ensure the Castaway family member of your choice, booking in advance is essential. Babysitting is F$5.00 per hour, paid in cash directly to the babysitter.

BOUTIQUE AND GENERAL STORE
Resortwear fashions, swimwear, island jewelry, gifts, books and souvenirs together with general store pharmaceutical and toiletry items are available from 8:30am to 10:00pm daily.

CHECKOUT TIMES
checkout time is 10:00 am. The porters will collect and store your luggage for your convenience. It’s always hard to leave, so if you wish to stay for that last swim or to make the most of your last day on Castaway, our hospitality day bure, subject to availability, is free of charge to freshen up prior to departure

Activities

Whether you decide to windsurf, paddleboard, or sail a catamaran around the lagoon, it's all in a day's activity at Castaway. View the living coral reef by snorkeling or through a glass bottomed boat – all with our compliments. Use of watersports equipment is available free of charge. You might want to spend an afternoon around their beautiful swimming pool or play a set of tennis at sunset. Join the staff on the beach every afternoon for Fiji vs. the world in beach volleyball. Board games are also available for those who prefer something less energetic.

ACTIVITIES WHERE CHARGES APPLY
Castaway guests have the option to participate in activities such as banana boat rides, SCUBA diving, waterskiing, parasailing, jetskiing and outer reef snorkeling trips at an additional cost.

Castaway's award winning PADI Dive Center offers a wide range of SCUBA courses for beginners through advanced divers.

Take an island safari in style on Fiji's fastest speedboat, 'Teivovo', cruising around our neighboring Mamanuca Islands with a delicious champagne picnic lunch on the way: a must-do activity while on Castaway. Join our handline fishing expedition Monday through Saturday evenings from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Try the exhilaration of parasailing over the sparkling waters surrounding the island or jump on a jetski and experience the rush of 30 mph on water!

Castaway is a sophisticated but casual island resort with lots for the adults and kids to enjoy.
