There is plenty for the family to do in Hervey Bay. A range of age-themed parks line the foreshore, catering to all age groups from the tiny tot to the teenager. Chess players can test their skills with the giant chess set in Bill Fraser Park by the sea. Teenagers may prefer to don knee pads and helmet and test their skill at the skate park, slide down the water slide or rev it up at the go-kart track. 

The family may wish to visit the beautiful Botanical Gardens and picnic in a most serene and tranquil atmosphere or visit the Aquatic Centre which has a 50m pool and toddler beach as well as slides and a playground.
 
The enthusiastic tennis player may wish to hit a ball around the Torquay courts and the future Tiger Woods would be just at home on any of our 5 beautiful golf courses the driving range or putt putt golf. Hervey Bay is perfect for walking and cycling. Our flat topography and a network of bike paths and walkways make it safe and easy to get around. For something different why not hire a tandem bike and peddle the ‘Link Corridor’ a beautifully landscaped walk and cycle path that extends from one end of the city to the other.

For the days when the weather requires indoor activities the Cinema Complex boasting 6 theatres is bound to please, and of course there is shopping, eating out, the library, art gallery or Hervey Bay Museum.  

Take a day trip or go camping on Fraser Island, barges leave daily (4WD only).  Take the kids whale watching, boats leave daily between August and November to view Mums and babies playing in the calm, sheltered waters.  If you have littlies a half day trip would be a good option.
