Fraser Island Accommodation

Kingfisher Bay Resort - *KIDS CLUB* Need an Island holiday!! This place really is paradise, not just for Mum's and Dad's but for kids too!  The resort is nestled amongst trees on the Western side of the world's largest sand island.  Access is via Hervey Bay in Kingfisher's very comfortable catamarans (approx 30 min), or 4WD access via barge. 

The resort offers a variety of accomodation, including 2 or 3 brm villas that are perfect for families.  They offer full kitchens, laundries and large balconies.  The Pandanus villas also have a spa for 2 on the deck, for when the kids are in bed!!  Preparing some of your meals will save you heaps, the resort store carries only basic supplies, so stock up before leaving the mainland.  Although with babysitting, kids club and eco rangers available, you will want to dine out in one of the three fabulous restaurants. The Sandbar poolside restaurant offers a good kids menu. 

Kingfisher caters extremely well for children, they offer the Junior Eco Ranger program for kids, in two age brackets 5 to 10 and 11 to 14yrs.  We were really impressed with their focus on nature and the environment, the activities are educational and fun.  Kids are taken outdoors to explore and learn, with experienced rangers ready to answer their many questions.  The program runs during school holidays and on weekends, just check when booking.  They also offer a kids club caring for babies to 5 year olds, their activities include painting, playing, games and of course, sleeping. 

Chances are, you will run out of days before you run out of things to do here.  There are 4WD tours of Fraser Island, inland lakes to explore, one of the world's most stunning beaches to drive along (4WD's are available for hire), and freshwater creeks for the kid's to paddle in. There is tennis, free fishing clinics, swimming, canoeing, windsurfing, bushwalking, birdwatching, ranger guided walks and when you and the kids are worn out, there are stunning pools, spa's and shops to visit.

Whale watching is available from August to October, Kingfisher Bay can arrange for you to be collected from the resort and taken to where the whales play.  The boat caters well for children, and it really is a wonderful experience for young and old.  Kingfisher's safe sheltered beach, abundant kids facilities, friendly staff and it's love of nature, make this one of our favourite places.
