We've just recently returned from Malaysia and Borneo and found it a perfect destination to holiday with kids.  There's such a diverse range of activities to suit every member of the family.  English is widely spoken and Malay people are friendly, love kids and are never without a smile on their faces. 

There is so much on offer for families from joining in at the village soccer game through to theme parks, jungle treks or lazing on a beach.  Here's just some of the great things to do in Malaysia.

Meet an Orangutan - head to Sepilok in Borneo to see these amazing Orangutans come from the wild to enjoy feeding time.  Both kids and adults will be amazed at the size of these guys and they are so human like its sensational.

See the biggest flower in the world - Head into the National parks of Borneo in search of the Rafflesia the biggest flower in the world.  They are not always in bloom so check before you head off.

Petronas Towers - take a trip up these twin towers in Kaula Lumpur and walk between them.  These stunning towers shine above the KL cityscape and really are spectacular particularly at night.

Cosmos World  - discover Malaysia's biggest indoor theme park on the 9th floor of Times Square in Kaula Lumpur.  The kids will love the roller coaster.

Longhouses in Sarawak - Join the Iban people in their houses built along the river.  Learn how they live and survive and keep their strong culture alive. 

Go Snorkelling - Head to any of the many Islands of Malaysia for some amazing snorkelling or diving, crystal clear waters, fish and coral.

Kinabatangan jungle - Stay in the jungle of Borneo and cruise the river searching for Probiscus Monkeys, pygmy elephants, macaques, orangutans, birds and more.

Terengganu State Museum one of the largest museums in Southeast Asia, lots of art and archeological to keep you and the kids enthralled.

Visit the local markets - Malaysia's markets are a colourful mix of food, crafts and smiling locals.  Watch the fishermans catch come directly from the boat to the stall.

See temples and mosques - Be amazed at the amazing architecture and variety of temples and mosques. 

Eat out - Malaysia has to have some of the best food in the world.  With its mix of Malay, Thai and Indian cultures a fantastic meal is served on every corner. The kids will love the Roti bread, chicken wings and fresh juices.
