Canberra - Australian National Botanic Gardens offers beautiful walks, explore the rainforest gully. An impressive selection of Native Plants many of which are threatened in the wild. A great place for a picnic, there is a cafe. Open from 9-5pm 02 62509450
The Tulip Farm - A short drive from the city, acres of beautiful flowers, ponds and waterfalls. They have a Kidz Corner and run various activities. There is a small charge for adults, children are free. For more info phone 02 62303077.
Glebe Park is one the Eastern side of the Civic centre and is accessible from Coranderrk, Ballumbir, Akuna and Bunda Streets. It is popular throughout the week and weekend during daylight hours, particularly in the spring, summer and autumn. Facilities include: barbecues; children's playgrounds; picnic areas; and a public toilet in the centre of the park. Time controlled parking is available outside the park only.
Tuggeranong Town Park is on the shores of Lake Tuggeranong, access is from Anketell Street. Facilities include children's play equipment, seating, picnic tables, shelters, parking, toilets and electric barbeques. A skatepark is located near the park's western boundary. Vehicle access to the picnic areas has been provided. There is a bike path.
