The Marina and Spinnaker Park recreation area - As well as the 83 hectare Botanic Gardens, Gladstone is also home to a world class Marina with landscaped foreshores, picnic/bbq shelters, playgrounds, bikepaths and a small beach. The Marina and Spinnaker Park recreation area are also a great location to watch the family of dolphins playing in the mouth of Auckland Creek, on an incoming tide. Thaks to AE Central Coast NSW

Gympie 

Nelson Reserve on the Bruce highway in the city centre.  Great playground for littlies and skate bowl, basketball for the older kids. Bbq's and plenty of lawns and shade.  Swimming centre next door for a small fee.

 Lake Alford on the southern approach to Gympie on the Bruce Highway.  Feed the ducks, eels and turtles in the lake (not fenced). Plenty of room to stretch out and paths for walking. Fenced area to eat away from the very friendly birds.
